Our Olympic Swimmer

Kaya LOVES her swimming lessons! She has learned a lot of strokes that she didn't know before. She is getting really good at them and is VERY fast! She would swim all the time if I could let her...watch out Grandma!

Even the BIG kids got to play on the last day of their lessons....
This is a floating boat that they got in and were able to goof off with. Kaya just started her new lessons and she is now in the 9ft pool and she LOVES it! I think she may have a love for a sport that may last for a long time!

5th Grade Graduation

How in the world are we old enough to have a child this old? OK, don't do the math but I guess we are. Miss Kaya "graduated" the 5th grade and is now a middle schooler (here in WA they start in 6th). The had certificates, medals, and photo's as they shook the hand of the middle school principal.
It was so crazy to watch! But our little girl is growing up!

He is a proud daddy! Look at his grin. Kaya was the school government secretary for the 5th grade year.
She is so tall! I love this girl so much! I am very proud of the young lady that she is becoming. This has been a TOUGH year at school with social issues, but we made it and we all still love each other.
This is Kaya's class outside at the 5th grade recognitation day. They had an Olympic theme where they ate and played games all day.

Congrats Kaya Bear! We love you!

Science Fair time

Kaya did such a great job on her project this year i am very proud of her. She chose the topic "Frozzen Rocks" to see how they would change after being frozen and thawed 7 times. She did her display board (forgot to take a pic) and just turned it in at school.
We will find out Thursday night how she did! No pressure for her but i told her a few days ago that if she placed she could eat where she wants for a dinner and we could go get a pedi (that last part was more for me). She is excited...in the 3rd grade she beat out all the 5th graders and got honerable mention only missing 3rd place by a point or 2. So she does good work when she applies herself! Now if we can get that kind of excitement for MATH!

1st day of school 2nd annual neighborhood breakfast

Our baby is a 5th grader! Can that even be true? I guess so since we are both in our 30's now...ugh. Well here are the pictures of the big day.
This is the 2nd year that we have held a neighborhood breakfast for all the kids at our bus stop! Each family brings some yummy food to share and it makes for a fun time and a perfect photo time!

I am already sad thinking about next year...Kaya wont be on the same bus with these kids! She is the only 5th grader and Bella is only 3. So that means next year we will have a middle schooler and a preschooler! So we cant do the breakfast with everyone, because she will have already left half an hour earlier than everyone else!

Kaya was nervous for school this year. She has a male teacher and really none of her friends in her class. I told her that this may be a blessing! A male teacher will be better at handeling 5th grade boys and no friends in class means she can listen and learn easier! She is the Student Council Secretary this year for the school so she will have PLENTY of time to socialize with her friends and lots of other students!

THIS WILL BE A GREAT YEAR!

Kaya's Choir Performance

You would think I have learned by now that the pictures come on the blog opposite from how i upload them! Well...here's to next time :).

Here is kaya after her school performed at the all city concert! It was a lot of fun. All of the elementary schools had their choir's perform. They also had them sing a few songs all together!
Kaya did a great job! Like she always does! She and her classmates gave a wonderful performance.
It was kinda fun to see some of the girls that we have had on Kaya's soccer teams that go to different schools that were singing.
Kaya loves to sing! P.S. this was on March 26th...just a little behind!
Blessings!
